Charlie Brown Thanksgiving And Franklin on the other Side

Posted on Sep 15, 2010 by in Is It Racist?, Movies, New News & Posts | 0 comments

Charlie Brown Tahnksgiving with plenty of room for Franklin... Ont the other side.

Charlie Brown has been on of the biggest Icons in TV Cartoons developing Snoopy, Charlie Brown and all the rest of the antics of the peanuts gang. But Charlie Brown seemed to be developed as an anti-hero or the opposite of an American Success story since he seems to always fall short. This lovable looser developed by Charles M. Shultz seemed to become an important part of our American Art and cartoon history, but because of the times that the Peanuts comic and cartoons came out there was only a few Negro Black characters created and one of them happened to be Franklin one of the gang who seemed to be just a regular kid just like most of them.

In the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving movie it seemed to get a little odd when Linus, Snoopy, And Charlie all seeme to have regular chairs during their feast and Franklin has to sit on the other side of the table, by himself, and it a crappy fold out chair.

Does anyone have an opinion on this? Is this just coincidence or is there something more to this cartoon image.
